Fast Company Design: Rio 2016 Olympic Games Pictograms
by Rina Dakanay

Here at AnyPromo, we’ve got more than a penchant for design and logos.  Our graphics and design team is the best in the business. Therefore, when the London and Brazil based design house Dalton Maag revealed their logo for the upcoming Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio for 2016, we’ve been looking forward to see the rest of the visual elements for each event.
Unique to each Olympic Games and host city, these pictograms depict every event and Maag’s complete set for the Rio Games tie in the fluid and rounded aesthetic of the initial logo.
The Maag Team elaborates:

"The bod[ies] of the athletes and sports equipment were constructed from the character or part of them, in a continuous line, with thickness variations to give the idea of depth. The pebbles, which are a feature of the visual language of 2016, support the designs and alter its shape according to the different movements of athletes."

Before we get to Rio De Janeiro, though, we’ll be getting acquainted with the graphics from Sochi Russia.  The Winter Olympic Games will begin on February 6, 2014.  For a sneak peek of the Sochi games, you can find some of the pictograms here: LINK.

AnyPromo’s design and production teams love to show off their #finished work. This is just another project of the many, many projects they finalize on a daily basis.

We just wrapped up production of these promotional hats for Pepsi, complete with an embroidered Pepsi logo. Because we have a full-scale production team in house, Pepsi got this order at a steal. Maintaining an in-house production team has been a key factor in keeping our prices the lowest on the Web. It also enables us to maintain greater control over quality of the final product.

Yahoo! Logo Generator Transforms Text to Match Company’s New Logo

image

By Fausto Mendez

The Yahoo! Logo Generator has arrived, and it’s ready to transform your company name - or any text phrase - into a logo that matches the style of the company’s brand new, redesigned logo.

You may have heard over the weekend that Yahoo! just updated its logo, and whether or not you think the change makes sense or is worth the time/money, the entire Web is talking about it. So it definitely achieved at least one of its purposes: get everyone to focus on Yahoo! This week, the company’s making sure that the spotlight remains on itself by unveiling the Yahoo! Logo Generator, a single-serving website (a toy, really) that matches text to Yahoo!’s logo style.

image

The five-minute time waster was developed by Flickr employee Bertrand Fan, not Yahoo!, so it’s not an official Yahoo! project. Flickr being a property of Yahoo!, it’s likely that the Logo Generator is not only sanctioned by the company itself, but it was probably encouraged by the company’s marketing team too.

However, the story getting passed around the Web certainly makes it feel like a quirky, on-the-fly idea, which is great for marketing, and in any case, it’s an effective marketing strategy that has ensured the continuation of the conversation for at least another week.

Finished Work: Embroidered Polos for Safe Home Systems

image

By Fausto Mendez

Our partner AnyPromo.com is a promotional products retailer/supplier, and the company’s graphic team and production team love to show off their #finished work. This is just another design of the many, many designs they finalize on a daily basis.

ADT reseller Safe Home Systems reached out to us this month for a set of custom polo shirts featuring the company’s embroidered logo on the left chest and ADT’s embroidered logo on one sleeve. We just upgraded our in-house production team, so we’ve been itching for an opportunity to test our new, state-of-the-art embroidery machines.

image

The ADT logo is a perfect test of our new production capabilities. Though it is a relatively basic logo, the letters”ADT” within the logo cross over each other, making it a difficult logo to stitch for some embroidery machines. But with our state of the art machines and experienced and production staff, complicated logos are not a problem.

The above photos are of fresh polos straight off the production line, so you’ll notice a ring around the embroidery. This ring is where the machine held the shirt down. It’s only temporary, and it quickly disappears like a wrinkle would (some customers just wash it or iron it out if they need to wear the shirts ASAP).

#Marketing #Infographic: The #Psychology of #Color

image

By Fausto Mendez

Colors are a critical factor when designing ads, branding materials and marketing campaigns. That’s because, whether you know it or not, colors can evoke certain moods in most people. Colors can even stimulate your appetite!

We stumbled upon this fascinating infographic on the impact of colors on consumer behavior. The whole thing is rather interesting, but we were really moved by the following facts (check out the full infographic below - click to enlarge):

+ Colors can improve comprehension, learning and reading ability in individuals.

+ A significant majority of consumers make purchasing decisions based on color alone.

+ 93% of consumers buy products based on visual appearance.

+ Strategic use of colors increases the rate that people pay attention to ads.
